History of the Hotel
The Wellness Hotel Chasa Montana exists since 1966 and has always been a family business with 50 beds till the big reconstruction in 1994. At this time Eliane and Hubert Zegg were a young couple, but already then they cared a lot about a familiar atmosphere, the care of details, comfort, service and top-cuisine. In 1969 a modern and spacious indoor pool (9 x 18 m; with glass front and view to the mountains) with a big recreation area was added (at this time the first hotel indoor pool in Engadin region). All that time the hotel enjoyed an excellent utilization. In 1994 the hotel was triply extended, its capacity increased up to 100 beds and a spacious wellness area was integrated.
The aims were also to give the hotel a typical Engadin style with native wood (arve and fir), a lot of glass and light as well as pleasant, calming and friendly colours (blue - sky, ocher - earth, orange - flowers, yellow - sun). Also typical for Engadin style: terracotta floors and many arcs. The wooden ceiling in the hall is from Renaissance.
